This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UCF chapter.

1. Denial

“Four dollars for a box of cookies?!” You’re a broke college kid, it’s the middle of the month and according to Fairwinds, you only have $4.03 to your name. It’s really hard to say no to Girl Scouts; these adorable little girls outside of Publix could sell ice cream to eskimos. Besides, if I eat every meal at 63 South for the next two weeks I can make it work. This box of samoas is totally worth it…right?

2. Anger

How am I supposed to have enough money to go out this weekend? Why do I have to choose between cookies and Lib? Can’t I have my thin mints and eat them, too?

3. Bargaining

“I know I asked for extra money last week, but this time Girl Scout cookies are on the line, so if you could just spot me the cash…”

4. Depression

They don’t take Knight Cash. I can’t believe this is the year I go without cookies…if you need me, I’ll be sobbing in a corner.

5. Acceptance

Next year, I will be victorious. I will not be broke. I will buy ALL OF THE COOKIES.
