Finding the perfect brunch is every foodie’s dream. After eating at Lindgren’s, we may have found our strongest contender yet.
Located on Dwight and Shattuck, Lindgren’s is separated from the more popular brunches in Downtown Berkeley such as La Note, but it is not one to miss. After a week heavy with midterms and papers, our Spoon team decided to treat ourselves to Lindgren’s brunch.
The coffee is perfect for someone who likes a smooth coffee with just a little boldness. The latte wasn’t too small and while the ratio of coffee to steamed milk was a little heavier on the milk, the large cup and the latte art satisfied my craving.
We decided to order an egg scramble with tomatoes and spinach. The eggs came with fresh fruit (grapes), potatoes and two slices of toast. While the eggs were good, our favorite part of this dish was the potatoes. They were lightly seasoned, not too spicy and perfectly cooked.
Our resident sweet tooth decided to order the Belgian Waffles. The two waffles that arrived were quite large and Lindgren’s was more than generous with the whipped cream. We got them with bananas, but you can customize your waffle to have any of the fresh fruit such as strawberries or blueberries depending on the season.
Spoon has not tried Lindgren’s all you can eat brunch buffet yet, which sells at $15 per person, but their offerings of eggs, toast, potatoes as well as one cafe drink sounds quite appealing. Most of their brunch menu items cost less than $10, but you can easily rack up that price with coffee drinks.
Lindgren’s is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy brunch after a busy week. With the delicious coffee, the satisfying brunch and the relaxing ambiance, who knows, maybe you’ll even get ahead of your work for next week.
