9 CREAM Combos that are Worth the Wait

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UC Berkeley chapter.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for—ice cream sandwiches, actually.

The real stuff. Not the synthetic fauxnilla clogged between two soggy chocolate wafers. Oh, no. We’re talking homespun, mouthwatering yumminess: ice cream sammies from your local favorite, CREAM. Sure, the sight of the line that stretches down the street is a turn-off, but it’s pretty hard to walk away once you’re hit by the smell of freshly-baked cookies.

The decision in the store is even more difficult. With 20 ice cream flavors and 10 cookie options to pick from, it’s bound to take a while to concoct your perfect sandwich.

No worries. Spoon’s professional taste-testers have done all of the dirty work for you. Sit back, relax and try to refrain from drooling on your electronic devices.

1. The Classic

Chocolate chip cookies coupled with French vanilla ice cream. Old crushes die hard.

2. The Unchaperoned Child at a Birthday Party

Take a moment to celebrate the kid in you. One carnival cookie, one chocolate chip and a dollop of Cup of Joe—only coffee-flavored ice cream and M&M’s can competently celebrate the kid in you.

3. The Happiness Fix

A white chocolate macadamia nut cookie and a snickerdoodle lovingly embrace a scoop of walnut banana fudge ice cream. Spoon tip: a quaint caramel drizzle to top it all off never hurts.

4. Subtly Sweet

One butter sugar cookie, one white chocolate macadamia nut and CREAM’s refreshingly light green tea ice cream—especially delectable if you’re looking for something on the lighter side of the sugar scale.

6. The Kindergarten Throwback

Very berry strawberry ice cream gets sandwiched between two honey peanut butter cookies. Let’s face it. A peanut-butter-and-jelly inspired CREAMwich? It’s original, palatable and bound to impress your date.

9. In Mint Condition

One double chocolate chip cookie, one chocolate chip with soy mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwiched in between. It’s refreshing and essentially a breath mint in the form of a dessert (which could always come in handy).

It’s important to note that you can’t buy happiness. But you can buy a customizable CREAM sandwich for two bucks.

And that’s kind of the same thing.
