5 Deals and Treats to Get at Your Favorite Food Chains This Halloween

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UC Berkeley chapter.

It’s October, and you know what that means… Halloween. Cue the jack-o-lanterns, ghost decorations, creative costumes and best of all, Halloween-themed foods. For those who simply aren’t satisfied by the huge selection of candy at Target, this list is for you. From black-bunned burgers to creepy iced drinks, Spoon has rounded up five fast food treats and a few deals to go along with them to satisfy all your cravings on All Hallow’s Eve.

Burger King: A.1. Halloween Whopper

By now, most people have seen, or at least heard of, the infamous black burger. Never mind what it does to your poop — this burger has A.1. baked into the black-as-night bun and contains all the other fixings of a typical Whopper. Pick yours up after a long night of trick-or-treating.

Krispy Kreme: Halloween-Themed Donuts

As if you needed another reason to hit up your local Krispy Kreme. Pregame in the days leading up to Halloween with donuts decorated like pumpkins and spiderwebs, as well as their special “Halloween Sprinkle Donuts.” But the best part is, those who dress up on October 31st get a free donut.

Chipotle: Boo-ritos and More for $3

A chance to be charitable at Chipotle? That’s right — you can get a burrito, burrito bowl, salad or taco for only $3 on Halloween to highlight the use of additives in most fast foods (every fast food chain that isn’t Chipotle, of course). Even more, proceeds up to $1 million will benefit the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation. Did we mention that everything on the menu is $3?

Panda Express: Free Dinner for Kids in Costume

While this may not apply to most college students, those out there who have kids, younger siblings or just look really young  take note. Kids 12 and under eat free on Halloween if they’re in a costume, which means you can take advantage of all the food they’ll neglect while they’re busy devouring their buckets of candy. It’s a win-win, really.

Starbucks: “Franken Frappuccino”

Similar to the thin mint Frappuccino, except made with green tea and white chocolate, this frap can do no wrong. With its slime-like green hue, mounds of whip cream, and succulent dark chocolate drizzle, the Franken Frap is the perfect way to bring a little chill to your Halloween. Or if you’re feeling freaky, order the vampire-inspired Frappula Frappuccino instead.

Wish it were Halloween yet? Don’t we all? Until then though, hopefully these delightfully hair-raising deals will be enough to stave off your appetite.
