Why You Need to Go to Baltimore’s Avenue Dollar Stroll

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at U Penn chapter.

If you’re like us, you’ve probably wished you could eat your favorite foods for free. Although Philly’s Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll doesn’t allow you to do exactly that, it lets you come pretty close. For only $1, you can get food and drinks from some of your favorite places like Little Baby’s Ice Cream or your favorite food trucks like the Tot Cart. Plus, you get to experience these vendors while enjoying free —yes totally free— entertainment since the stroll will feature jugglers, fire artists and local musicians.

There’s no catch. Philly, including university city, is just pretty cool. The Baltimore Stroll is this Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 pm and located on Baltimore Avenue between 43rd and 51st Street, just an easy walk from campus. Vendors, including local stores along Baltimore Avenue and food trucks from around the area, line the sidewalks to sell $1 food and drinks. When you go, keep an eye out for the following: Dock Street Brewery, Pound Cake Heaven, Lil’ Pop Shop and Redcap’s Corner (if you’re on the look out for packs of mini Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards). We bet that if you go on the Dollar Stroll, you will definitely get some bang for you buck.
