Sweetgreen Will Be Closing Their Sweetflow, Their Froyo Brand

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at U Penn chapter.

Yep, that’s right —say bye to Sweetgreen’s Sweetflow froyo. As of this Thursday, September 11, 2014, you will no longer be able to walk into the Sweetgreen at Penn and order refreshing, tart yet sweet, classic froyo covered with your favorite toppings. Looking for a sweet snack sprinkled with mini chocolate chips? It’s gone. Craving something sweet but healthy and loaded with fresh fruit? You will no longer find it at Sweetgreen.

What does this mean? It means that instead of easily accessible froyo that makes us think we’re being healthy, we will have to walk far (well, further) to either Kiwi or Yogorino to get an unhealthier froyo fix. Unless, I guess, we decide to try Saxby’s tart froyo.

Why is this happening? According to an employee, Sweetgreen has made a “corporate decision to focus more on salads” but might introduce “smoothies or juices” instead.

Hopefully Whirled Peace will open up ASAP on 40th and Sansom to fill Sweetflow’s spot.

Until then,
RIP Sweetflow
