Are you tired of eating the same thing for every meal? Have the dining hall options finally started to become old? Do you need some new zest in your life? Well, you have come to the right place! So many people have been and are currently in the same boat as you. The solution to this problem: become your own master chef and start experimenting! The key is to find flavors that complement each other and create your own unique combinations.
Now, I would not go as far as to call myself a chef, but I did make some of my own flavor discoveries and I believe that they are some of the tastiest out there. Now you be the judge of that and check these five delicious combos out for yourself!
Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Cocoa Krispies
Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Cocoa Krispies are by far the two best cereals out there. It would be a crime to not combine two great things to foster even more greatness. The warm and spicy flavor from the cinnamon is a great complement to the sweet and chocolate-enriched flavor from the cocoa. This is a great way to spice up your breakfast! …or lunch, dinner, or midnight study snack.
Pizza with Ranch Dressing
It seems that dipping pizza in ranch dressing causes quite a lot of controversy among food lovers alike. I am here to say that although it is a highly unpopular opinion, it is absolutely delicious. Adding ranch to pizza- especially pepperoni pizza- became an absolute game changer. It made eating pizza for the fourth day in a row- because everything else in the dining hall did not look appealing- so much better. Plus, pizza crusts have never tasted as delicious as when I started dipping them in ranch. It is a very similar concept to dipping pretzels in mustard.
Potato Chips and Salsa
Okay, I know what you are thinking. Why not just eat salsa with tortilla chips? As a broke college student, we do not always have access to every ingredient needed for a proper snack and must make do with what is given to us. Potato chips go great with traditional salsa. I would highly recommend it to those who prefer less salt on their chips for a lighter taste.
Nacho Cheese Doritos and Apple Slices
Now, do not make a weird face when reading this title. The red Doritos and apple slices create a beautiful blend of sweet and savory. The cheesy flavor of the chips in addition to the crunch of the apples makes it seem as though you are eating a plate of nachos- but a healthier version!
Fries with Chocolate Soft Serve
If there is a Wendy’s anywhere near you, it is time for you to start running. Order a medium fry and a chocolate Frosty and try this right away. It tastes best when you dip the fries in the Frosty. The savory and crunchy aspects of the fries go great with the sweet and soft notes of the ice cream. It is a great snack and dessert option!
Eating the same foods everyday can be boring, but it does not have to be! I really hope you all try some of these odd combinations and enjoy them as much as I do! Maybe it will even inspire you to create some of your own!
