Fresh Forage Visit

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at U Mich chapter.

Michigan Spoon had the tremendous opportunity to visit Fresh Forage twice over the last semester. I also dined there on my own and even took my entire family, just the other day. It is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Ann Arbor. The freshness, quality and deliciousness of Fresh Forage are unmatched.

The Spot

Fresh Forage, located at 5060 Jackson Road in Ann Arbor truly delivers one of the best dining experiences in the area. It’s a quick, easy and fun atmosphere. They strive to use only the freshest and most thoughtful ingredients from local farms and some are even sourced from their own farm. Additionally some ingredients are sustainably foraged from the deep woods throughout the state of Michigan. It is definitely freshness you can taste and feel good about eating.

New Additions

Fresh Forage keeps things exciting and new by dropping a new menu every 4 months. Their new summer menu was just released and will be around through July. It features fresh flavors, bright colors, local sourcing, incredible health benefits and taste combinations that will blow your mind.

What I Ate

During my last visit I throughly enjoyed noshing of the sweet potato nachos as an appetizer which include hand cut sweet potato chips, vegan cheese, black beans, roasted corn, pickled onions, green onions, and guacamole salsa. I followed the nachos up with the KBBQ Bowl which contained the insane flavor combinations of white rice, bbq pork belly, kimchi mayo, soy marinated soft boiled egg, kimchi, jalapeños, cucumber, radish, cilantro, green onions. It was literally to die for! Their fresh juices and draft Kombucha are amazing too.

Run, Don’t Walk

Fresh Forage is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday and hours are as follows: Lunch is served 11AM-3:30PM and Dinner is served 3:30PM-8:00PM. They offer online ordering and dine-in or take-out. You can also visit them online at https://www.freshforage.com
