Alright, spring break is over so you can finally ditch that PV diet that you have been busting your ass over for the past two months. Spring is upon us, and what does that mean? I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!
Yep, that’s right. The all-time favorite, local Ann Arbor ice cream shop, Blank Slate Creamery, will be re-opening its doors for the season this Wednesday, March 9th from 3pm-10pm. Now what do we have to look forward to? Only everything.
The first 200 customers in line on March 9th will receive 1.5 pint containers, but when they go to refill them them will only have to pay the price of one pint. A half a pint of free ice cream every time you refill your container? I think I will be camping out overnight to make sure I’m first in line. I can’t take any risks when free ice cream is on the line.
Another thing to look forward to this season is a new feature that allows customers to order pints, quarts, brownies and cookies online by the dozen, online. All you have to do is place your order on their website and then go in and pick it up. Yeah, your life just got 10x easier. Thank you, Blank Slate ice cream gods.
Now, this may not be brand new, but this concept slid under the radar last season. Blank Slate will continue serving up ice cream sandwiches. Your choice of ice cream sandwiched between two warm chocolate chip cookies, macaroons, ginger molasses cookies or whoopee pies. I’m pretty sure I’ve never thought of anything more perfect. My two favorite sweets coming together in holy matrimony, complementing each other with the gooeyness of a cookie and the creaminess of the ice cream? Count me in.
Blank Slate is known for using all natural and locally sourced ingredients, and they are excited to announce that they will be bringing back all of their favorite flavors, including Loaded Banana. This beautiful concoction consists of puréed banana, scattered Guittard bittersweet chocolate, marshmallow cream, peanut butter and finished with a salty caramel swirl. Personally, I’m most excited for Chocolate Fudge Brownie, which consists of handmade chocolate chip brownies, surrounded by homemade fudge, enveloped in a rich, chocolate ice cream.
So mark your calendars, Ann Arbor foodies. Blank Slate is back in business, and I, personally, could not be more excited. (TBH, I’ve been counting down the days since they closed in December).
