’90s Snacks You’ll Miss While Watching Fuller House

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at U Mich chapter.

Full House is being revived with a spinoff series on Netflix, Fuller House, and every person in their early 20s and late teens will now be able to relive the golden years that were the 90s. When you’re lost out there and you’re all alone, just remember Fuller House premieres February 26 on Netflix. You got it, dude.

There are only 13 episodes, so what better way to spend the next week (jk — the next 36 hours, let’s be honest) than to isolate yourself in your room and snack on some nostalgic treats as you watch this long awaited reunion? In the spirit for this premiere, even if you’re swamped with homework and looming deadlines of midterms and papers, these #tbt treats will have you feeling like a kid again.

1. Dunkaroos

Because what screams 90s more than animal-shaped cookies smothered in sugary frosting? Whether coming home from a long day of 5th grade to snack, or finding this as a surprise in your Bratz or Fantastic 4 lunchbox, Dunkaroos satisfied our sweet tooth like no other. Think you’re too old for Dunkaroo dip? Think again.

2. Wonder Ball

This was literally the coolest treat ever, and a clear status symbol in the 90s. If your parents ever gave in and bought you this, it was undoubtedly the best day of your life.

Sadly, the Wonder Ball is now discontinued because the candy inside the chocolate shell was seen as a choking hazard. Tragic. But, if you’re still craving this childhood treat, a close second does exist.

3. Lunchables

As you sit beneath a plethora of blankets, snacking on some Lunchables (because you’re never too old for Lunchables), you’re sure to reminisce on those old Full House episodes when Steve would come over to the Tanner’s to make a sandwich.

Well, lucky for us, Steve will be returning to San Francisco and hopefully reigniting the flame with his old fling DJ Tanner. Fingers crossed.

While no child knew what they wanted to be when they grew up (and we honestly still don’t know), this candy made us all want to be artists. As you played on your Tamagotchi and got green sugar stuck between the cracks of your teeth, there was no place you’d rather be than parked in front of the TV watching reruns of Full House.

5. Push Pop Popsicles

If it’s not orange sherbet, then you’re not doing it right (nor are you doing it right if it’s not in this classic 90s wrapping). On a hot summer day, these babies were a godsend for cooling us down and satisfying our sugary cravings. Now, anytime you smell orange sherbet, immediate flashbacks of your awkward 3rd grade self run through your head — it’s inevitable.

6. Dinosaur Chicken Nuggets (and a side of smiley fries)

If you’re like me, you still ask for these by name (thnx mom) and smush your smiley fries into a pool of ketchup until ‘blood’ comes oozing out of its eyes and mouth. Childhood in a nutshell.

7. Gushers

The best part about Gushers was opening up the wrapper to find them all stuck together. And, when you got all blue ones in a single pack, you knew someone was looking out for you. Have mercy. And if you didn’t have a crush on uncle Jesse, stop lying to yourself.

The most stressful part of your childhood was making sure this didn’t explode all over you as you ripped apart the top. Now, I’m stressed about what I’m gonna do when I finish watching Fuller House in three days (or less).

Because the crust is overrated. Cut. It. Out.

10. Ice Cream Sundae

And to get you through Michelle Tanner’s absence in this spinoff series, a very large ice cream sundae is recommended (with Cosmic Brownies, of course). And while it may not mend the cracks of your broken childhood heart, it’s sure to make you feel like a kid again.
