In Honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I Tried This TikTok Cocktail

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at U Conn chapter.

If you spend as much time on TikTok as I do, you might’ve seen something called the Corona Sunrise come across your FYP.

The concept is anything but new, first making its emergence on TikTok all the way back in November of 2020. But it’s recently been kicking up a storm

The Corona Sunrise is based on a Tequila Sunrise. Basically, it’s a bottle of Corona beer with tequila, orange juice, and Grenadine added on top. You give it all a quick mix and that’s it!

Now, I’ve personally never tried the Tequila Sunrise, but it has always looked gorgeous, and I like the taste of Corona beer, so what better time than now? Also, we’re stuck in quarantine, so now seems as good a time as any.

Once you get your ingredients together, it comes together in a jiffy. And since it only requires a Corona bottle, there are no extra dishes you have to worry about.

If you desire it, you can give the rim a quick wipe with a lime wedge to add a little bit more of a pucker (I didn’t have a lime, so I skipped this step), before you simply stick your thumb in the opening, and give it a quick swirl (as seen in the TikTok above)..

Guys, it’s so good. I messed up and put too much OJ in, but you can barely taste the beer, which I know is a big dividing factor when it comes to anything using Corona beer.

Surprisingly, the tequila isn’t that apparent, either, which means this drink is dangerous.

Overall, I’d give it an 8/10. But if you’re 21 or older, and feel like having a satisfying drink, I’d totally recommend it.
