Move over Tiff’s Treats, you’ve got some competition. MOOJO, which stands for Moments of Joy, changed the ice cream sandwich scene when it opened up on the Drag in June, selling build-your-own ice cream sandwiches.
MOOJO makes all seven cookie flavors in-house and offers eight ice cream flavors from McConnell’s Fine Ice Cream. You might ask, what if I’m vegan or gluten-free? Don’t worry because MOOJO has got you covered with vegan ice cream from NadaMoo and gluten-free cookie options.
At MOOJO, you pick two warm cookies (or a waffle or brownie if you’re feeling bold), an ice cream flavor, and toppings, and then they sandwich them together for you. If you’re feeling indecisive about which cookies to choose, you can even get two different flavors to build the ultimate ice cream sandwich.
If eight ice cream flavors, seven cookie choices, and endless toppings aren’t enough to satisfy your cravings, MOOJO also offers a surprise special each month. This month’s February combinations are Valentine’s Day themed, one including the “UR COOL”: peppermint stick ice cream smothered between two chocolate chunk cookies, topped off with chocolate cream cookie bits. Are you drooling yet? Because you should be.
If you’re not up for a whole sandwich, MOOJO also sells their cookies and ice cream individually. However, it’s worth it to get an ice cream sandwich since the other elements tend to fall flat on their own. Why limit yourself to just ice cream or cookies when you can have both?
As for the MOOJO interior, you’re going to want to Snapchat this immediately. Instead of regular tables and chairs, MOOJO has swinging benches. That’s right, you can swing as you eat your custom ice cream sandwich. The colorful murals on the walls also give the space a playful vibe.
So if you’re craving a sweet treat that’s trendy, delicious and convenient too, MOOJO is definitely worth a stop on the Drag.
