It’s everyone student’s worst nightmare: you pack yourself some snacks, stick them in your backpack and head to class. A few hours later, you reach into your backpack to silence the obnoxious noise your stomach is making…only to find that your books have decimated your beloved snacks. Now you’re left snack-less. Sad, right?
Fortunately, this never has to happen to you — these seven snacks are virtually indestructible, so you’ll never have to go hungry again.
1. Cheese sticks
Full of protein and highly filling, these cylindrical sticks are a throwback to elementary school snack time. Pretend you’re a carefree preschooler and enjoy this unsquishable snack.
2. Dried fruit
Dried fruit is my personal favorite. Sweet yet healthy, these are a great snack you can sneakily eat during class.
#SpoonTip: Add a variety of mixed fruit to your trail mix to satisfy your sweet tooth.
3. Nuts
There are tons of different nuts to choose from — pick your favorite. Nuts, such as almonds, are proven to improve your memory, and what college student would say no to that? Check out the pros and cons of different nuts here.
4. Trail mix
Trail mix is a classic. It never spoils and fits easily into the nooks and crannies of a backpack. Plus, you can make your own — refer back to #2 to add a sweet twist to your mix.
5. Granola bars
Another great option — granola bars are highly filling and will prevent obnoxious stomach noises until you can grab lunch. Make your own with this recipe.
6. Beef jerky
For you carnivores out there — beef jerky is perfect snack for you. If you’re not into that, try these jerky alternatives. Bonus: it never goes bad, and who doesn’t like eating beef casually during class? Find out more about the history of jerky here.
7. Chocolate-covered everything
Raisins, almonds, coffee beans — you name it. These delicious chocolates are a sure pick-me-up for those sluggish days in class.
