Snacks That Have Your Back During Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Syracuse chapter.

Finals approaching means a myriad of things — late nights, stress eating, poor nutrition, and perhaps transforming into a library gremlin.

It’s not too late to change your fate though.  I never leave my house without an arsenal of snacks when I go to the library. Without my bags of goodies I would surely parish in the midst of my studying. These munchies will keep you satisfied and on track to an A+.

Mix and match anything on this list! These are the combinations I came up with but the possibilities are endless!

Snack List:

  • Carrots
  • Hummus
  • Almonds
  • Peanut Butter
  • Triscuits
  • Laughing Cow Cheese
  • Bananas
  • Apples
  • Coffee
  • WATER

Combos:

Carrots and hummus

When you combine the fiber from the carrots and the protein from the hummus, you will be left beautiful full feeling that is sure to last.

Almonds

Just a handful will keep you going and they come in so many different flavors. Cinnamon sugar is my favorite.

Triscuits  & Laughing Cow cheese

No need for refrigeration. Traveling cheese and crackers!

Peanut butter with apples or bananas

This combination is so satisfying and filling, but without a massive calorie intake.

Coffee

When it comes to coffee my first, and obvious, thought is caffeine. And Starbucks takes the cake on this one. You’ll find your jolt there with 260 milligrams of caffeine just in a tall. They’re open till 11 p.m. on most nights too!

Water

I saved the most important for last. Keeping hydrated is key while you’re burning the midnight oil. Your brain is made up of 75 percent water. Let me say that again, 75 percent people! Don’t let yourself get dehydrated. Usually the first sign of dehydration is masked by the feeling of hunger. So when you find yourself consumed with the idea of food,  all your noodle is really asking for is a cup of water!

Happy finals week everybody! And may the curve be ever in your favor!
