Heritage Eats at Jordan Hall Launches Menu Re-fresh

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Stanford chapter.

Heritage Eats, the successor to Jordan Hall’s Thai Cafe, is a family-owned, globally inspired, fast-fine restaurant offering a flavorful variety of high quality dishes. To achieve both the best value on campus and to meet the convenience needs of faculty and students, Heritage Eats consistently engages with and incorporates feedback from their customers. Thus, Heritage Eats launched an unbelieva-bowl-filled menu-refresh this past week.

Why the ~fresh~ menu re-fresh?

Heritage Eats founder and owner Ben Koenig IV spoke of this re-launch as an opportunity to shift to more of a “curated bowls” concept in accordance with input from Stanford community. As their most consistently sold item, the menu now highlights a wider variety of options and allows for customers to order from a dedicated “Bowls” category. Gone bowling for the Baja Shrimp.

New menu, same bo(w)ld flavors.

Along with their vision to feature flavors from around the world, Heritage Eats at Stanford aims to fill the on-campus demand for high quality, unique salad and rice bowls. In addition to being extremely tasty, their bowls are very student-friendly — snag a bite or two between classes or tuck it in your your backpack for later. You can’t go wrong with ingredients like tofu, kimchi, quinoa tabbouleh, tzatziki, mango chutney, or all of the above.

Let’s taco-bout what else is new.

But what about your Monday pre-12:30 lecture Heritage Eats favorite, providing you temporary relief from Stern dining burrito bowls? Never fear, Heritage Eats retains all of their previous items with the exception of the Dutch Crunch roll. In addition to expanding from six to ten curated bowl options, they now offer delicious steak tacos. Taco Tuesday just became Taco Everyday.

10 minutes for lunch? Heritage Eats heard.

As former students themselves, Heritage Eats understands how to cater to the busy days of students, as they have the ability to serve more than 120 meals per hour. Don’t fret the line — ordering options are not limited to the window. Customers may also order and specify exact pick-up times online via their website. So you can finally have your lunch and eat it, too.

To lunch & beyond — Heritage Eats caters!

Heritage Eats extends their food and hospitality beyond their stellar offerings available during their weekday Winter hours 11am-2:30pm. They offer catering services and are open to forming partnerships with student organizations to assist them in raising funds for their causes. So you can grab lunch and book your next event with Heritage Eats at Stanford an all in one.

Their story is vibrant, honest, & adventurous.

Next time you find yourself hungry in Main Quad, check out Heritage Eats and their new menu at 450 Serra Mall, Building 420, Stanford, CA 94305. They’re cooking up deliciously elevated eats and preparing house-made drinks, like these refreshing iced teas  just what Spring quarter is ordering.

Stanford '19

I'm Jackie, but I'll answer to my well-deserved nickname of McSnacky. I love food, I love to write, and I love writing about food. As a recent Stanford University Human Biology graduate (and as an ex-pole vaulter on the Track & Field team), I studied the human health-food interaction through a variety of different lenses – from my own performance-based nutrition plan to coursework spanning across: Human Biology; Earth Systems; Psychology; Economics; and Health Policy, to name a few. And though my everyday university life has ended for the time being, my interest in the intersection of the food and healthcare systems remains. Healthcare consulting serves as my first professional step in the ladder leading towards a career in this intersection.
