Cardinal Cravings: Teaspoon’s Snow Ice

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Stanford chapter.

Everyone from Stanford knows that Teaspoon on El Camino is the indisputable choice to satisfy all your boba needs. From their classic House Milk Tea to their more exotic flavors like White Crystal, Teaspoon has nailed down the right combination of sugar, ice, and everything nice.

But, what if I told you that Boba isn’t even the best thing Teaspoon offers? Introducing…

Snow Ice: Imagine it like the fresh airy snow you roll around in during winter, but edible, and with flavors like mango, matcha, and strawberry. Its beautiful ribbon-like appearance is mesmerizing and its fluffy consistency will perfectly melt in your mouth. As soon as you try it, you will instantly want to come back for more. Snow Ice has been a popular dessert in Taiwan for quite some while, but Teaspoon, along with other tea houses, has recently popularized it in the Bay Area with great success.

With spring here and a warm summer approaching, snow offers the most refreshing snack. Teaspoon combines the snow with toppings to make delicious dessert creations. My personal favorite is the Tropical Delight — mango snow topped with rainbow jelly, white mochi, and drizzled with condensed milk. If you’re looking for something a little less sweet, Teaspoon has you covered with their “Californian,” avocado snow topped with almond flakes and white mochi for an amazing combination of flavors.

So, next time you head to Teaspoon for Boba, try something different and get their snow ice… you won’t regret it.
