Starbucks Unveils New Fudgesicle-Inspired Frappuccino

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at St. John’s chapter.

It’s no secret that everybody loves a good Starbucks frappuccino to beat the summer heat, and everybody loves chocolate. Together, we’ve gotten some of the best creations, like coffee-infused chocolate bars, or mocha frappuccinos. Chocolate and coffee just go together, so the concept of Starbucks’ new Double Double Fudge Bar frappuccino is sure to make your summer even more amazing.

Unveiled on Saturday, June 11th, the Fudgesicle-inspired drink was secretly released. It has typical flavors like mocha sauce and vanilla syrup blended with milk and ice, but comes with two shots of mocha sauce and is topped with “chocolaty whipped cream,” which isn’t usually stocked at Starbucks locations. According to a Starbucks press release, the drink will only be available for a few weeks, but if you can do without the chocolate whipped cream, you can still technically order the drink.

The drink joins the S’mores and Caramel Waffle Cone frappuccinos released for the summer, as well as the long line of new flavors released over the past year including key lime and birthday cake. At 460 calories and 50% of your recommended saturated fat per 16 oz serving, this drink may not be the healthiest order, but it will be sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Whether you’re a coffee lover, a chocolate lover, or a little bit of both, you can go grab this drink before it’s gone in a few weeks. It’s perfect as an afternoon caffeine fix or a snack when you find yourself needing something sweet on-the-go.
