I Tried the Oreo Overload Bagel, and Here’s What I Thought

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at South Carolina chapter.

The Bagel Nook is a small bagel shop in Freehold, NJ. It is the home of the original Oreo Overload bagel and the Cereal bagels. The Oreo Overload bagel has been everywhere such as the New York Post, Live with Kelly, and Glamour. Their rainbow and Oreo overload bagels were crowding my instagram feed and I needed to see if they were worth the hype.

I am not a huge fan of cream cheese. I usually get a bagel with butter or a bacon, egg and cheese. Even though I was not a huge fan of cream cheese, I was a huge fan of Oreos. I tried the rainbow bagel with Oreo cream cheese a couple of months ago and I wasn’t too impressed. It wasn’t life-changing, but it made a beautiful picture. You can also make your own rainbow bagel at home

The Oreo overload bagel chocolate-and-vanilla-swirled bagel with whole Oreo cookies topped with a generous amount of cookies-and-cream cream cheese. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this bagel since the last time I had the Oreo cream cheese, I was not a huge fan. When I got the bagel, the chocolate-and-vanilla was beautiful and the Oreo cookies looked delicious.

I took the first bite into the bagel and was pleasantly surprised. The taste of cream cheese wasn’t too overwhelming for me and the Oreo chunks added a great taste to the bagel. You could actually taste the chocolate bagel and it was delicious.

Overall, I think the Bagel Nook did a great job with this bagel. It was fun and tasty and something no bagel store has done before. This Oreo overload bagel is $6, which I think is a little expensive for a bagel, but it is great to treat yourself with. It also made a great Instagram picture.

Will I get this Oreo overload bagel again? Maybe. Will I go back to the Bagel Nook? Definitely.
