Rise Soufflé: Which Soufflé Are You?

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at SMU chapter.

What is Rise Soufflé?

If you live in Dallas you have probably heard about Rise Soufflé. Rise Soufflé was opened in 2008 in Inwood Village, on the corner of Lovers Lane and Inwood Drive. Rise Soufflé features a truly unique soufflé dining experience, and now has two other locations in Houston and Fort Worth if you don’t live in the Dallas area.

When you walk into the restaurant, the light is dimmed, but the twinkly lights and bright colors of the handmade “torchons” (French tea towels specially designed for Rise Soufflé and for sale in their gift shop!) around the restaurant stand out. There is a large chef’s table in the center of the restaurant that is separated from the rest of the restaurant by a bunch of birch branches covered with Christmas lights at which it is truly a treat to dine.

What is on the Menu?

Rise Soufflé is best known for its selection of savory and sweet soufflés, but it also features a number of non-soufflé appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Their Marshmallow Soup is a tomato carrot bisque with 3 tiny goat cheese soufflés on top that look like marshmallows and it’s a must try. If you’re not feeling a soufflé for your entree, you can’t go wrong with the Niçoise salad. Also, their creme brûlée and apple tart are to die for.

Pro Tip: if you’re gluten free, don’t worry. All of the savory soufflés can be made gluten free and all of the dessert soufflés that are fruit flavored can be made gluten free.
