Why Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers Is Switching to a Mostly Vegan Diet

Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, is at his most lean, 218 lbs, since 2007. Rodgers turned 32 in December, yet claims to be the at the prime of his athletic career. He attributes his physical success to one major change: his diet.

Rodgers began following a stricter diet after his knee surgery last January as a way to help his knee heal. “I’ve done a lot of research and talked with Adam Korzun, our [team] nutritionist, and some other friends around the league about how I can extend my career and how I can be and feel healthier,” Rodgers explained to ESPN.

He did this by bumping up the amount of vegetables and fruits he ate and following a nearly vegan diet, meaning no dairy for the beloved cheesehead.

Rodgers was inspired by Tom Brady’s famous diet and knew that an increase in certain health foods would reduce any inflammation in his knee. But will his cheesehead-wearing fans still accept him?
