I’m a self-proclaimed international food enthusiast. Having never actually been to any countries with an incredibly interesting food culture, I’ve had to do my best with what I can find here in good old St. Louis. If I could eat on South Grand everyday I would, but I’m on a college budget and a meal plan.
Way too late in my college career (second semester Freshman year) I discovered the most amazing hidden gem on campus – The Caffe in the Center for Global Citizenship.
The Caffe offers a standard menu of salads, flatbreads, and sandwiches, all scrumptious in and of themselves (I strongly recommend the Greek Salad or the Mediterranean Flat Bread), along with hummus and pita offered daily.
The best part of the Caffe, however, is their changing weekly menu. Every week, the Caffe offers cuisine from a different culture. Even better is the availability of high-protein, satisfying vegetarian and meat options. I’ve enjoyed Korean BBQ tofu, coconut noodle salad, spicy white bean salad, and more.
Unfortunately, I believe the Caffe is seriously underutilized. There is almost never a line, which is awesome for people like me, but sad for everyone who is missing out on this mouthwatering food and eating at Fusz everyday. I have heard way too many people say “I’ve never eaten there before!”. Trust me on this one, guys.
