Pope’s One Wish Is To Eat Pizza, and This Man Makes It Happen

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at SLU chapter.

In a recent interview, Pope Francis was asked if he missed anything since taking on his role as leader of the Catholic Church. He replied, “the only thing I would like is to go out one day without being recognized, and go to a pizzeria for pizza.” Something tells me the Pope Mobile does not blend in too well with other traffic.

Without a doubt, every single college student’s heart goes out to anybody that is unable to order a pizza, seeing as it is one of our main food groups. Pizza for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack. It is always the answer.

When Enzo Cacialli, co-owner of Pizzeria Don Ernersto in Naples, heard this, he felt a calling and when the Pope mobile cruised through Naples on Sunday, March 22nd, he was eagerly waiting to deliver “il Papa” a customized pizza.

Not even a barricade could stop this ultimate delivery from happening.

In this perfect moment, when the pizza is finally delivered, we realize that the Pope and college students are not so different. We all want the same things in life: peace, justice, and pizza. Now I’m left wondering what lengths my local delivery man would go to in order to get me my pizza.
