Best Pizza Places in San Francisco, for every occasion

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at SCU chapter.

1. Golden Boy Pizza

Golden Boy Pizza is a classic. You cannot skip this place, especially since it is located in the heart of San Francisco’s Italian district, North Beach. You will find a line outside every weekend at 1:00 am, drunchies in full effect. Because it’s on the greasier side, it’s perfect for curing your hangover. Golden Boy is open till 2:30 am, has all different kinds of pizza, all sold in a square shape. Note, they only accept cash, but if you are looking for the best pizza, stop here. Find it at: 542 Green St. San Francisco.

2. Tony’s Pizza

This definitely has to be my favorite pizza place in all of San Francisco. Tony’s Pizza is also located in North Beach, and just like Golden Boy, there is always a line outside. Luckily, if you just want to grab a slice, next door is Tony’s Slice House, where you can purchase single slices, similar to Golden Boy Pizza. I love Tony’s Pizza because the second you bite into their pizza, you immediately taste the flavors from the fresh ingredients they use. My absolute favorite is the meat lovers pizza, with pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. OMG, yes bacon!!!! Literally some of the best pizza I have ever eaten. You can eat at Tony’s at: 1570 Stockton St. San Francisco.

3. Delarosa

If you love burrata cheese, then you are in luck. Delarosa is a fabulous American/Italian restaurant located in the Marina (aka boujie) district of San Francisco, and they are known for their burrata. From burrata bruschetta, pasta with burrata, all the way to burrata pizza. The burrata pizza I ordered is absolutely amazing. My mouth started watering instantly. All the ingredients were so fresh, and the bubbling hot pizza with the warm burrata on top was just heavenly. You can always find this place hoppin’ on a week or weekend night! Check it out at: 2175 Chestnut St. San Francisco.

4. Del Fina Pizzeria

Last but certainly not least! Del Fina Pizzeria, just like Tony’s Pizza, is one of my favorite pizza restaurants in the Bay Area. Del Fina is definitely the fanciest pizza restaurant of the bunch, but if you are looking for the best pizza like you’d have in Italy, then this is the place to splurge on. My absolute favorite, and a must order, is the panna pizza. Basically it is tomato sauce, cream, and shaved parmesan. Literally the most delicious creation of pizza ever. I am also obsessed with their arancini, fried cheese rice balls, and of course, the burrata with crostini. This pizza is just like the pizza in Italy, and perfect for a date night or boujie night out with friends.

Speaking of boujieness, check out my previous article on the top boujie food places in San Francisco!
