Donut Bar was first opened in Downtown San Diego in March of 2013. Since then it has grown to have three locations with an addition in the San Diego International Airport and in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas.
Now, Donut Bar is considered to be one of the best donut shops in the U.S. by many, including USA Today, Thrillist and many others. They also claim to have “the best donuts in the world.”
While Donut Bar is most well known for their “Big Poppa Tart” Pop-Tart-stuffed donut and their creme brûlée donut, they have a little something special up their sleeve.
What do they have up their sleeve you ask? ICE CREAM DONUT CONES. Yes, you heard that right; a donut and ice cream cone hybrid.
The donut ice cream cones are rolled in cinnamon sugar and topped with vanilla ice cream. They offer chocolate and caramel toppings to add to all its glory.
You can get their donut cones during any of their business hours, however, their evening hours make it a little more acceptable to eat donut ice cream cones. But the heart wants what the heart wants, so feel free to indulge at any time of day.
Donut Bar San Diego is open from 8 am to 12 pm Monday through Sunday but they often times sell out much earlier than their 12 pm closing time. They recently added night hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 pm to 10 pm.
Get there well before 8 am on weekends because lines begin to form down the street and around the corner shortly after opening.
Next time you’re in San Diego, 10/10 recommend stopping by Donut Bar for one of these bad boys.
