3 Chain Food Restaurants That Will Pay For Your College

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Rutgers chapter.

Let’s face it: college is expensive. But does it have to be?

Here are three chain restaurants that are willing to pay for your college if you’re willing to work for them.

Chick-fil-A

Starting hot, we got Chick-fil-A. Best known for their crispy, pickle-topped, chicken sandwiches and a stubborn cow on just about every highway sign. With more than 3,000 restaurants in 48 states, there is sure to be one willing to pay for you.

Chick-fil-A will offer up to 30% off eligible student tuition at more than 100 different colleges and institutions. But it doesn’t end there. With Chick-fil-A’s Tuition Assistance Program, team members are also eligible for additional scholarships, as well as their family members. These scholarships include the True Inspiration Scholarship which grants a student $25,000. Smaller ones, like the Remarkable Futures Scholarship, offer anywhere between $1,500 and $2,500.

What’s the best part about working for Chick-fil-A? Free food! Most team members either receive free food or large discounts. Not only is part of your college paid, but your stomach too!

McDonalds

Up next, McDonalds! Student crew members are eligible to enroll in McDonalds’ “Archways to Opportunities” program. This provides up to $2,500 annually to crew members and can be applied to both on-campus and online schools. However, McDonalds supports degrees beyond just college, including enrollment for a free high school diploma, career advising, and even bilingual seals. And don’t worry about bringing lunch, because each crew member is eligible for a free sandwich meal during their shift.

Taco Bell

Last but not least, we’re headed to Taco Bell! Taco Bell offers team members the Guild Education program. This program offers anywhere from 5% to 20% of tuition remission, assistance with scholarship earnings and applications, and even federal aid. The best part? Team members are granted access to these benefits the second they clock in for their first shift. What’s even better? You can receive any $5 meal or less for free during each shift.

Need some help paying for college? Maybe even a free meal? Your next job’s got you covered!
