Where to Get the Best Spinach Dips in Kingston

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Queen's U chapter.

If I could eat only one cheesy meal for the rest of my life, it would be spinach dip. The dip is perfectly paired with literally anything—baked pita chips, tortilla chips of any flavour, pizza bread, toast, you name it! I am totally partial to Kelsey’s and Montana’s classic recipes, but Kingston has some amazing restaurants that are equally as amazing! Here is my official ranking of the best places to get spinach dips around Kingston.

1. The Merchant Tap House

The Spinach Dip at the Merchant Tap House is one of my favourites. Served with both toasted pita chips and tortilla chips, this blend of cheese, spinach, and artichoke is warm and delicious, with a great balance of flavours. The dip is just cheesy enough and is perfectly scoopable with your pitas and chips. This one is definitely a no-brainer because it’s so delicious!

2. The Grizzly Grill

For the longest time, I didn’t even know that The Grizzly Grill served a spinach and artichoke dip. One day, when my family was in town, my mom ordered it for us and I thought I was in heaven! The dip at The Grizzly Grill is the perfect blend of cheesy goodness and has a little more cheese in the cheese-spinach ratio if that’s your style. The dish is served with toasted and crunchy corn chips.

3. Go Italian

What aren’t Italians good at? They’ve already blessed us with lasagna, tortellini, pizza, and spaghetti—what more could they offer us? You guessed it; more spinach dip! Go Italian makes their spinach and artichoke dip in true Italian fashion, with a twist of garlic cream cheese in the sauce. Served with crostinis instead of the usual chips, this dip really stands out!

4. Windmills

For the final selection, here’s a dip with a kick! Windmills has kicked up their spinach and artichoke dip by adding chipotles to give it that extra oomph we didn’t know it needed! Served with crostinis so you can easily scoop up every last morsel, this is a dip you have to go try!

Kingston has certainly perfected the spinach and artichoke dip recipe, over and over again! The dip is a fan favourite across town, no matter what restaurant you sit down in. Go venture out into the ooey-gooey world of cheese and spinach, and don’t hesitate to bring me some leftovers!
