I Tasted The Spaghetti From “Elf”

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at PSU chapter.

You know when you see actors eating food on the television and you go, “Wow, I wish I had that right now”? Well, that didn’t happen to me when it came to this spaghetti dish featured in the film “Elf”. In fact, this entire article was an idea by someone else entirely in the PSU Spoon U community, but I guess it was my fate to take the reins on this one and to sacrifice my health and morals.

When Buddy the Elf comes to New York, he ruins the good name of spaghetti by adding to it syrup, candy (these two items are key in the Elf Food Groups), Chocolate Fudge Pop-Tarts and marshmallows. I am certain (after trying this dish myself) that Buddy had undiagnosed diabetes.

If you wish to create this dish, all you need to do is get all the above ingredients, let go of your inhibitions and throw them (both ingredients and inhibitions) into a dish. You may mix using your utensils, or with your hands like an untamed Christmas savage. Below is a video of me making this dish, trying it and giving my review, along with some important snapshots of my hands and the dish itself. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t look as cheery as it did in the movie.

I am no film maker, but as you can see this dish nearly ended my life and brought out a simile meant solely for the inside of some great Greek epic. Seriously, guys, this stuff tasted like carnival ass. I hope Will Ferrell didn’t actually have to eat this – and if he did, he is a stronger man than I.

Here’s the crime scene:

And the dish itself, looking like I may have dropped it in a toilet then hired Sasquatch to fish it out for me:
