As the temperature outside gets colder and colder, somehow we still find ourselves cozying up to a nice cup, or bowl, of frozen yogurt. As we approach the peak of the holiday season, why not test our skills at recreating some of our favorite festive treats – froyo style?
When I think of frozen yogurt in Eugene, I think of the infamous campus hot spot, Yogurt Extreme. Although the neon pink may fool you, this place sure knows how to serve holiday cheer. They have pumpkin and eggnog froyo and everything in between. With a dash of creativity and a lot of fun, we were able to come up with a few festive treat combinations for your (and our) enjoyment.
I will eat frozen yogurt year round because it can be so different each and every time. I love the ability to completely change the dessert based on not only froyo flavors, but also the condiments available, too. Candy, candy cane, candy corn, and chocolate syrup are all available at Yogurt Extreme this holiday season. Because Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa are just a few of the holiday celebrations coming in hot, we figured we might as well throw together a few #tbt creations…a bit of past and present celebrations in our mouths. So listen up and take some notes — these combos will not let you down.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
eggnog froyo + pumpkin froyo + whip + cinnamon
PSL season is coming to an end and we girls (and boys) need to find alternative ways to take in our totes fave Starbs drink. I know this combination of flavors seems a bit unusual, but I promise all you pumpkin spice latte lovers that it will take your PSL love to a whole new level.
White Peppermint Bark
White chocolate moose froyo + mint froyo + crushed candy canes
Peppermint bark is one of my favorite treats to make during the holiday baking season. This froyo version allows me to now enjoy the same flavor, but with minimal work/effort on my part. This will definitely be getting me through these last few weeks of classes and finals.
Pumpkin Cheesecake Cookies
pumpkin froyo + snickerdoodle froyo + cheesecake bites
I’ll admit, I have a crazy addiction to pumpkin. I just love everything about it. From cookies, to drinks, to froyo, pumpkin flavor never fails. This creation is very unique and definitely could only be found at Yogurt Extreme. Their cheesecake bites are amazing and I’ve never seen them at any other yogurt shop. They’re a great froyo addition that you simply gotta try.
Apple Pie a la Mode
crushed graham crackers + green apple froyo + vanilla froyo + a-cherry-on-top
I don’t know about you, but when it comes time for holiday baking, pies are always at the top of the list for my family. This froyo treat changes the pie game. A la mode, meaning with ice cream, recreates the homey feeling of this treat. Oh yeah, and every dessert is better with a cherry on top.
