If onion rings aren’t enough for you, just wait. Anyone from California knows that a trip home typically includes at least one stop at In-N-Out and it can be hard to go without one of those double-doubles during a term in the Eug. However, we are blessed with the with the gift that is Joe’s Burgers in the new EMU fishbowl and people are obsessed.
1. They Look And Taste Pretty Damn Similar…
I mean what? This looks like the long lost twin sister of an In-N-Out double-double but with a danker bun, bigger patties, and some seriously fresh ingredients. At first, I had my doubts that there could be no way this would satiate my need for In-N-Out, but after the first bite, I was instantly impressed.
2. The Fries Are Actually Good
You don’t have to lie to yourself anymore. In-N-Out’s cardboard fries have never really been satisfying enough to you, especially when you have to speed eat your Animal Style Fries before they harden into a salty lump of sadness. These fries are the perfect golden crispy side for your burger and make a satisfying snack on its own.
3. You Can Add Way More Toppings
Besides adding bacon, Joe’s has several flavor combos like grilled mushrooms and swiss or blue cheese with bacon and onion rings. A big favorite is the Big Kahuna with Teriyaki sauce, onion rings, pineapple, American cheese, and bacon.
4. Seasonal Milkshakes
I was pretty upset to see that the Grasshopper Pie milkshake went away, but luckily Joe’s continues to offer dope seasonal flavors to keep you coming back to try more.
5. More Than Just Burgers
Besides having dank dogs, Joe’s serves up delicious corn dogs, chili cheese dogs and it’s famous Diablo Dog, wrapped in bacon, deep fried and covered in cheese, chili, mustard, Jalapeños, and onions.
6. The Fries And Rings Section
These onions rings are fire and go so well with all the options Joe’s offers, but they don’t stop there. They got sweet potato fries, they got tots and they got chili cheese fries. Keep the party going.
7. Gluten Free Bun And More Patty Options
Being a friend to the celiac shawties, Joe’s offers a gluten free bun and a lettuce wrap. Joe’s also has an all natural turkey patty and a veggie patty for those trying to avoid red meat.
After it opened and I started eating here more than once a week, I quickly had my In-N-Outs met for a while. However this year I didn’t go back to California for 6 months and going to Joe’s really did give me some familiar cali-vibes, but with the twist of Oregon that I’ve grown to loved. If you think I am crazy, go try it for yourself and I swear you won’t be disappointed.
