The Best Places to Get Pizza on Campus Corner

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Oklahoma chapter.

Pizza is a basic food staple for college students. And what’s better than having more than FIVE different places to get pizza right across from campus? Whether it’s a drunk eat after a night out at the bars or a casual place to grab lunch or dinner with friends, Campus Corner is full of pizza places to fit any occasion.

Here’s a list of options when you’re craving pizza, but don’t want to travel far to get it.

1. Pickleman’s

This may just be a sandwich shop, but ask any OU student and they will tell you that Pickleman’s is one of their go-to pizza places. With 10 different (and amazing) thin-crust options, you can find one to fit your cravings. Also, it’s conveniently located next to all of the bars on Campus Corner and open until 3 am on the weekends, making it the hot spot after a night out. (They also deliver!)

2. Hideaway Pizza

Hideaway is a classic. It has nearly every topping that goes well with cheese, sauce and bread. The restaurant also offers the choice of thick or thin crust, so you are able to create basically any pizza your stomach desires. The restaurant features wooden booths, tie-dye decorations and old pictures to create a casual atmosphere for a lunch or dinner out. They also have the option for pick-up and their website allows you to order online.

3. Volare

As one of the newer additions to Campus Corner, Volare has already become one of the most popular places to dine. By day, it’s a trendy restaurant and by night, it’s a lively bar. The best atmospheric feature to this brand new building is its rooftop patio that gives guests a unique view of campus. Although Volare has the priciest pizza on this list, it has by far the best quality food and atmosphere, which makes it so worth the money.

4. The Library Bar & Grill

Although The Library is not technically located on Campus Corner, it’s right down the road so I felt it deserved to be included. The pizzas here are to-die-for. I highly recommend the pepperoni and chicken Alfredo.

Another perk is the awesome deals at happy hour, which is every day from 3 pm-6 pm and 10 pm-close. Oh yeah, and ALL DAY on Sundays. Not only are the drinks half-priced during happy hour, but the pizzas are only $5! What’s better than a $5 personal pizza? I can’t think of anything.

5. New York Pizza & Pasta

If you’re looking for the typical “college pizza shop” feel, NYPP is the place to go. You can either order a whole pizza, or grab one by the slice. TVs line the walls for added entertainment. You can guarantee to see some OU football on game days, too. Next time you’re needing a quick slice, grab your friends and head to this joint for some pizza and pitchers. Delivery and takeout are options, as well.
