Roundup: Thanksgiving-Themed Specials in NYC

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at NYU chapter.

Can’t wait for Thursday to indulge in turkey and the works? Want a Thanksgiving feast but don’t want to cook everything? Lucky for you, NYU students, you don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen to get an early taste of Thanksgiving. Many restaurants and cafes have introduced Thanksgiving specials (think turkey, stuffing and gravy) to ring in the annual feasting holiday. Here’s a small taste of what you can find this week.

Momofuku Milk Bar

Every November, Milk Bar turns out its unique Thanksgiving croissant: a flaky pastry masterpiece stuffed with real turkey, gravy and cranberry sauce. The dough is made with a genius stuffing-spiced butter which makes for some serious flaky layers. Try it warm, then have a few pumpkin pie cake truffles for dessert.

They fill spiced pumpkin doughnuts with either cranberry and turkey or turkey and gravy. If you can’t get behind the idea of your Thanksgiving meal stuffed inside a sweet doughnut, they also fill the pumpkin doughnuts with marshmallow or cranberry.

Vive la Crepe

They may not celebrate Thanksgiving in France, but Vive la Crepe has a special Thanksgiving crepe for crepe-loving New Yorkers. Their crepe may not remind you of the quintessential stuffing-and-turkey meal, but it does contain turkey, raclette, bacon, potatoes and tomato sauce.
