I may or may not be in a dangerous relationship. It doesn’t harm me emotionally or physically…although it’s probably made me gain a pound or two over the past few years.

This relationship I’m referring to is between me and trail mix. What’s an extra pound or two when you have endless possibilities of yummy snack mixtures at your fingertips? Plus, trail mix can be healthy: you just have to choose the right ingredients.

Here are 10 cheap and easy DIY trail mixes, with 5 different categories to suit whatever cravings or dietary restrictions you may have. There are lots of easy substitutions as well. Whatever you’re looking for, we’ve got you covered. It’s like eHarmony for snacks.

Chocolate Lovers

1. Cheery Cherry Chocolate

Mix dried cherries, dark chocolate chunks or chips, white chocolate chunks or chips and almonds.

2. Puppy Chow

Mix Chex cereal, chocolate chunks or chips, peanuts and chips.

3. Empty the Pantry
