Four Creative Ways to Reuse Peeps

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Northwestern chapter.

Peeps — you either love ’em or you hate ’em. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of the sugar-coated marshmallow chicks and bunnies, but for some reason they never fail to make an appearance in my basket come Easter morning. (Yes, I still get Easter baskets. Don’t judge.) Being a firm believer in using whatever you have, here are four tried and true ways to use these little guys in a tastier way.

1. Peep S’mores

Two graham crackers + chocolate + a Peep + few seconds in the microwave  = S’MORES.

2. Rice Krispie Treats

This is super simple: replace marshmallows in any Rice Krispie treat recipe with Peeps.

3. Chocolate-Covered Marshmallow Pops

Put the marshmallow on a stick-like object (forks, knives, toothpicks and chopsticks count), and dunk it in the melted chocolate of your choosing.

4. Coffee or Hot Chocolate Topping

The sugary coating will dissolve almost immediately to sweeten your drink, while the marshmallow itself will serve as a tasty addition to your hot beverage.
