You might’ve heard of this exclusive bagel pop-up in Boston, or seen it all over Instagram… This Vermont baker makes small batch bagels with the name Brick Street Bagels!
With a long line down the block and bagels that sell out every weekend, Brick Street Bagels typically hosts their pop up in the South End Buttery, a cozy cafe located in Southie.
The key to getting one of these exclusive bagels is to keep a keen eye out on their Instagram story for a bagel “drop”, a link that lets you preorder and reserve your bagels ahead of time.
The bagels go for two for $6.60, or if you are lucky enough to get one of their specialty bagels, around $10 per bagel. Cream cheese is a separate purchase, and they even sell Brick Street Bagels merchandise!
When the day comes to pick up your bagel, you hop in line, and once you get to the counter, choose from the remaining bagel flavors.
Their bagels usually come in everything, rosemary, cheddar, and cinnamon sugar offerings, and if you are lucky, grab a rosemary bagel and their bacon scallion cream cheese. A match made in heaven.
Brick Street exclusively sells bagels, but to complete your breakfast, South End Buttery sells unique coffee drinks– I loved the Iced Caramel Apple Latte! The combination of bagels and lattes is such an amazing start to the morning.
Once in a while, Brick Street has orders of bagels with toppings, usually lox bagels and bacon bagels – these are even better than the bagels on their own!
The lox bagel is covered in a thick layer of cream cheese, fresh lox, capers, and dill for the perfect bite. The bacon bagel was perfection, with crisped up bacon bits cooked in a maple and a slightly spicy sauce, which cut through the cream cheese perfectly.
If the weather permits, South End Buttery has beautiful patio seating that is perfect for enjoying the fresh bagels. If you are able to snag one of these exclusive Brick Street bagels, I promise they will be worth the effort.
