De-stressing For Midterms With Food and Friends

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Northeastern chapter.

As midterm season approaches, it’s normal to feel very stressed. There are many ways to destress such as doing a hobby you love, going for a walk or run, or even binging a movie. For us, we LOVE food! So to destress, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice walk to the Prudential Center to grab dinner and dessert.

It was absolutely frigid when we went, so we were craving some warm and cozy food and decided to go to Wagamama for dinner. Wagamama is a modern Asian fusion restaurant with a wide variety of drinks, appetizers, and dishes.

Luckily it wasn’t too busy so we didn’t need a reservation. We ordered the Short Rib Ramen and the Teriyaki Chicken Donburi. The short-rib ramen was very flavorful and the meat fell right off the bone. While the noodles weren’t traditional ramen noodles, the texture was chewy and soft.

The teriyaki chicken donburi was phenomenal. With just the right amount of tanginess in the sauce, as well as the vegetables on top of the warm rice, the flavors blended effortlessly.

Although we were full from dinner, that didn’t stop us from getting dessert (as they say, you always have room)! Both of us have been tempted by the idea of ice cream for the past month, so we went to Coldstone Creamery (conveniently also located in the Prudential Center). We got the ‘Surrender To Strawberry’ and the ‘Chocolate Devotion.’ Despite the sub-zero winds outside, the first spoonful of ice cream definitely melted our stress away.

We won’t deny that the cold weather outside made us re-think our dessert choice for a bit. But when met with the chocolatey goodness and strawberry delight, it’s safe to say that eating ice cream in the cold is a memory we won’t forget.

But we understand not everyone wants to brave the cold for a cold treat. However, that’s no problem at all- Coldstone also offers $0.99 ice cream delivery for the rest of February!

Overall, with a savory dinner followed by a sweet treat, we successfully ended midterms week with the perfect food combination.
