When attending a school in the Midwest, you have to expect to find midwestern delicacies all over the place. Chicken Salad Chick specializes in chicken salad and has a variety of other Midwestern dishes such as their egg salad, grape salad, pimento cheese, broccoli salad, chili, and more. We tried every chicken salad from Chicken Salad Chick. Here’s what we thought!
Our top 3:
Lauryn’s Lemon Basil
Lauryn’s Lemon Basil (pictured bottom right) is a bright and fresh salad with pecans, fresh basil, and lemon. It was zesty and delicious and tasted a lot like pesto.
Jalapeño Holly
Jalapeño Holly (pictured top center) definitely packs the punch. The balance between the spicy, salty jalapeño and the creamy mayo leaves you with a delicious, balanced chicken salad.
Cranberry Kelli
This was one of our favorites! With dried cranberries and slivered almonds (pictured left), it has the perfect mix of sweetness and nuttiness and a great crunchy texture.
Here’s our thoughts on the rest of the flavors available at Chicken Salad Chick:
Classic Carol: This is your classic, run of the mill chicken salad. With soft shredded chicken and a boat-load of mayo, you can’t really go wrong. This is definitely a strong choice for those who love to keep things simple.
Olivia’s Old South: This southern chicken salad includes eggs and sweet pickles. There is a strong taste of relish, so if you like that then go for it! When going the classic route, we preferred the Classic Carol to Olivia’s Old South.
Buffalo Barclay: If you’re a buffalo chicken dip lover– this one’s for you. The kick of buffalo flavor definitely adds an unexpected twist to your chicken salad expectations. This would be perfect to set out as a dip with some chips for your next game day celebration.
Kickin’ Kay Lynne: Get ready for some spice. The Kickin’ Kay Lynne incorporates buffalo sauce, ranch, bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, jalapeños, & Sriracha for the ultimate flavor punch.
Dixie Chick: Try this chicken salad if you LOVE onions. This chicken salad is the only one they sell with onions.
Sassy Scotty: The Sassy Scotty is a midwesterner’s dream with ranch, bacon, and cheddar cheese. It tasted like a delicious dip in chicken salad form, so if you’re looking for a protein-packed game day snack, look no further.
Barbie-Q: Calling all BBQ fans! The Barbie-Q tastes like a bottle of your classic Sweet Baby Ray’s.
Fancy Nancy: Treat yourself to the Fancy Nancy, a delicious fruity and nutty option, with fuji apples, grapes, and pecans. The nuts deliver a delicious crunch mixed with just the right amount of sweetness.
Fruity Fran: This one is for the sweet chicken salad lovers – it’s packed with fuji apples, grapes, and pineapples.
And last but not least, their limited time Patti Thai’rific: This chicken salad tasted exactly like a delicious pad thai, topped with sesame ginger, carrots, and cashews. It’s very peanut forward and savory – a must-try option while it lasts!
