Here’s What Food Labels Would Say If They Were Honest

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Miami chapter.

Momma always says that honesty is the best policy, so why should food labels be exempt from this lovely policy? Truth is, food labels are far from being honest majority of the time. Unfortunately for us, grocery shopping has turned into yet another game of expectation vs. reality. There’s a very high chance that when you open up a bag of chips, you’ll most likely find yourself disappointed at the fact that you get more air than chips (unless it’s Pringles, you’re the real MVP).

Design Taxi decided to shed light on the dishonesty of labels by making their own honest labels.

Ever wonder why your mom never let you drink soda when you were a youngin’? Turns out soda has some questionable and icky sugars that you should definitely avoid. So yeah, this representation is way more honest and to the point than a Coke bottle with a friendly and inviting slogan on it.

When you open up a bag of chips you end up getting 90% air and 10% chips – we’ve all been there. It’s time these companies stop lying to us. I just wanna grub in peace.
