Over the past couple of years, food Instagrams have become insanely popular and it’s not hard to see why. When we’re stuck with the choice between dining hall food and whatever limited options our college town has to offer it seems that the only access we have to amazing food is through Instagram. Of course, when we order photogenic food, we love sharing it on Instagram as much as anyone else.
Finally, our fellow fans of food Instagrams can rejoice in the existence of a new app: Wine ‘n Dine. This app is basically Instagram but they don’t want birthday shout outs to your best friend or tbts to when you were tan and hot last summer – they just want your food. On this app, you can post your food with reckless abandon, as well as follow other people with the same passion for the culinary arts.
When you post on Wine ‘n Dine, you can edit your pics, tag the restaurant and city you’re at, name the dish, rate it out of five stars, and leave a comment about your dining experience. You can also follow other people to see what they’re eating. While you should definitely follow your friends, a ton of celebrities have also signed up to this app. And what’s more interesting than seeing the food that Gigi Hadid has been eating?
If you’re looking for inspiration, you can search for trending dishes, restaurants, people, and even the general type of food that interests you. If you find a restaurant you like, the entire menu is featured on the app. An amazing feature of this app is that not only can you like other peoples’ posts, but you can add it to your “wanna try” list. Your “wanna try” list is basically a stockpile of food pictures you’ve saved on the app that will always be there to influence your dining all over the world.
Happen to be on a quick trip to Paris? Good thing you have five different macaron shops saved on your list.
So basically, this app changes the entire food posting game. We are pretty excited that we have finally found a place where we don’t have to scroll through (and pretend to care about) countless pictures of random people and their friends before we can find something we like with our hearts, not just our thumbs: food. We know the Wine n’ Dine community shares this feeling, and it’s great to find an app after our own hearts and stomachs.
