Students Describe Their Favorite Drunk Eats at Manhattan College

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Manhattan chapter.

We all know that drunk eating is the best eating. It’s a time when calories don’t count and any combination of ingredients goes well together because you’re just hungry and DGAF. With the array of late night delis open around campus, here are some of your favorite things to EUI (eat under the influence).

“Caprese sandwich with bacon and avocado.”

“New Riv Deli. Stuffed grape leaves and french fries with mustard. With a seltzer water, omg. Literally perf every time.”

“Anything from the Bronx Ale House is awesome. I mean, it was made to go with alcohol, so eating anything from there already drunk is phenomenal.”

“Chicken fingers and fries from J Del. It’s too conveniently close to Fens. One time, I got a free Stella Artois goblet with my purchase of chicken fingers and fries, that was dope. I drank some pink wine out of that goblet.”

“GRILLED CHEESE PLZ.”

“A caprese sandwich (mozzarella, tomato, basil panini) ADD avocado and bacon! BOOM! Flavor explosion. It’s from New Riv Deli. It’s the best because it’s so simple but so good. Bacon and avocado! Enough said. THEN you put em on an already amazing sandwich. WOW! (insert drunken drool). I’m pretty sure it was at the last supper.”

– Katie Lang, Junior

“Egg, ham and cheese from Dunkin’ Donuts after going to River City.”

 – Anonymous, Senior

“Twisted Taryn from Jasper Deli.”

– A ‘too embarrassed to say’ Senior

“Bacon cheeseburger. Bacon cheeseburger. Bacon cheeseburger. Shortstop’s bacon cheeseburger holds a permanent place in my heart.”

– Deanne, Junior

” My favorite drunk food at MC would obviously have to be shortstops. Shortstops is one of those places that you wouldn’t ever eat at sober because it’s actually f*cking disgusting, but when you are drunk or hungover it tastes like Jesus Christ himself. Shortstops is also extremely nostalgic because that’s where everyone went after Cannon’s as a Freshman. My go to food would be mozzarella cheese fries with brown gravy for dipping and chicken fingers.”

– Nikki, Senior

“$1 pizza.”

“Jasper Deli mozzarella sticks because they give you 6 of them. Or mac n cheese that I make. They’re both amazing because of the high quantity of cheese.”
