Whether you forgot to eat breakfast before your 9 a.m. theology class or need something to hold you over during your three hour marketing night class, Green Peel will get you through it. With combos that either fulfill your sweet tooth or let you be the health nut you should be, you’re definitely going to like what you get.
Green Peel gives you the option to order a creation they have already developed or freestyle with your own choices. After replacing Red Mango at the beginning of the 2014 school year, students were hesitant to try it. How could you top their delicious parfaits or froyo smoothies? However, after talking to my Loyola peers and asking about their Green Peel faves, it’s apparent students are finally accepting the new vendor in the student center.
Berry Punch Energy
This delicious combo of ingredients includes strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, milk and an energy boost. This infusion of berries and its added energy boost will help you power through your busy week. I find that switching from coffee to smoothies actually keeps me more focused from the natural energy rather than jittery from all the caffeine in a Starbucks drink.
Watermelon Hydration
This juice is a refreshing mix of watermelon, cucumber, coconut water and mint. The juice will cleanse your system with just the right amount of sweetness allowing you to enjoy it too. Juices are also a great way to quickly get a dose of your daily amount of fruit and veggies.
Apple Juice Base with Celery, Apple, Pineapple and Spinach
If you’re in the mood for a green smoothie but still want a little sugar kick, combining both veggies and fruit is a great way to have it all. Smoothies/juices that are pure veggie can be a little too bitter so adding fruit also adds that extra bit of sweetness to makes it a lot more tasty.
Froyo with Banana, Mango and Kale
Another perfect mix of healthy and sweet; the froyo and fruits totally mask the taste of the kale (for those who don’t like it). If you’re still warming up to the kale superfood trend, this combo is an ideal snack to help you ease into it.
Apple Juice Base with Banana, Kale, Pineapple, and Ginger
Hungover and Hungry? Try this mixture. It’s another green and fruity combo; the banana ingredient helps to add a little more substance to cure your hunger. This combo is also a brilliant hangover cure because ginger has proven to help settle your upset stomach.
Froyo with Cocoa Powder and Banana
When you’re more in the mood for dessert and it’s your cheat day, this is the way to go. There’s no other classic combo that will satisfy you like banana and chocolate.
Coconut Water Base with Strawberries, Banana, Peaches, and Honey
A classic spin on the typical strawberry banana combo and the peaches add a zing. Using coconut water as the base provides an incredible amount of electrolytes. This is a perfect combo when you’re recovering from the night before because it will hydrate you and also is just enough for your stomach if it can’t handle much more.
