7 Things to Put on Toast for Every Day of the Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at LMU chapter.

Love bread? I hear you. Here are some things to put on toast for each day of the week. You’ll probably need a toaster, but no judgment if you opt out of using one.

Monday: Peanut Butter Toast

Here’s a simple recipe for your typical Monday morning: peanut butter, sliced banana, and chocolate chips all on a piece of toast. It’s filling, sweet and totally balanced. What better way to start off your week?

It really doesn’t get any simpler than this; all you need is butter, and a slice of toast. Toast some French or sourdough bread, and simply spread butter over it. Pair it with a fruit, and you’ll be out the door in two minutes!

Wednesday: Avocado Toast

Now, I have tried and tested every avocado toast recipe on the internet, yet this is by far the easiest recipe on the planet. Top a slice of toast with slices of avocado, and gently mash. Drizzle on about a teaspoon of olive oil, and squeeze some lemon juice on it. Sprinkle just a tiny bit of salt and pepper for taste, and voila! This toast is just what you need to get past hump day.

Thursday: Cream Cheese Toast

Skip the bagel, and spread some cream cheese onto a slice of toast. If you are feeling extra adventurous, add some blueberries or raspberries onto the toast as well. You can even drizzle some honey onto this lovely concoction. Best part is, breakfast is done under five minutes.

Friday: Jam Toast

What could be sweeter than Friday? A piece of toast with your favorite jam or jelly might just be. Especially with the fall season upon us, jams are sure to be popping up in every direction you look. Trader Joe’s even has a whole section consisting of jams, jellies, and fruit spreads.

Saturday: Egg on Toast

Whether you are up at 7 a.m., or you sleep in way past noon, hopefully you have a bit more time to cook up a well-rounded breakfast on Saturday morning. Fry an egg over medium heat, then gently place onto a piece of toast. You can even add some beans and salsa.

Sunday: Nutella Toast

Nutella? Yes please! Add some strawberries, spread Nutella onto a piece of toast, and enjoy this wonderfully sweet breakfast. It’s just enough to hold you over until brunch.

Just an endlessly energetic and always optimistic young woman trying to find her place in the world-who also happens to love teacup pigs, and firmly believes that chocolate can cure just about anything.
