The Final Bachelorette Contestants, As Told by JMU Dining Halls

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at JMU chapter.

The pool of bachelorette contestants is narrowing, and Jojo’s season is coming to an end. Soon we’ll sit back and realize just how much free time we have on our hands now that it’s over. Luckily, by then we’ll be preparing to head back to JMU, and our focus will switch from guys with six pack abs to eating six pounds of dining hall food. But which contestant or dining hall to choose? Get excited, they might not be as different as you think.

Jordan: SSC

SSC and Jordan Rodgers can definitely be classified as frontrunners, even if we won’t admit it. Both are easy on the eyes, well-known, and have a wide range of fans. But the question remains, why do we love them so much? Sure, the food is great and we keep coming back, but can we honestly say it’s our number one? We like you Jordan, and you’re definitely at the top of the pack, but do you really have our hearts? Either way, you can both tone it down a notch, there’s no way we’ll forget about you.

Luke: Dukes

Let’s be honest, the only thing that gets our hearts pumping as much as Luke kissing Jojo are the buffalo bites from Dukes. Even if we venture out for a few days and start eating somewhere else, we eventually realize that Dukes has never let us down and never will. In the same way, Luke has yet to disappoint us, and continues to be a favorite. Both of them are loved by everyone, both of them are delicious, and yeah, their names even rhyme.

Alex: Top Dog

He tries. He really, really tries. But for the life of us, we can’t figure out why he considers himself to Jojo’s number one. Similarly, Top Dog really does try. It definitely has some strong points, like Mongolian Grill and Dunkin’, and we’re not complaining about Alex’s smile or arms either. However, we all know deep down that they will never be the best. At least they made it this far.

James Taylor: Festival

Both James Taylor and Festival Food Court have good intentions all the way through. They both are sturdy and reliable, with some positive points like James’s guitar and Festival’s Cheese Please, and here’s an article that explains why. As sweet, adorable, and reliable as they both are, if we’re being honest, they can get a little old, and definitely aren’t our top pick. Hang tight though, we still love you. You’ve been there for us in good times and bad, and we admire you.

Chase: E-Hall

We like you, Chase. You will remain solidly at the top of our list for those good looks, great personality, and fun dates with Jojo. Similarly, E-Hall will always be in our hearts for continuously being there for us with good food, not to mention the famous E-Hall brunch (nothing is better, and here’s why). We have to admit though, sometimes we catch ourselves forgetting about both of them. Whether it’s a weekday without brunch at E-Hall or a group date with Chase, we’ll eventually remember them for being great. They just aren’t always at the front of our minds.

Robby: D-Hub

They have promise, truly. Everyone claims we’re going to be blown away, and we almost believe them. Whether it’s D-Hub’s huge, flashy tent or Robby’s unrealistically perfect abs, there’s definitely something there, and here’s a few more details. However, we’re a little more concerned about what’s on the inside, and frankly, a bit confused as to why they’re even there. We’ll be watching…

I love food and I love JMU.
