“Yum” in Italian is Cafe Pizzaria

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at IU chapter.

So, it’s date night and you and bae have no idea where to go. Many of you probably know that argument well. Let me save you the trouble and just say: try Cafe Pizzaria.

If you’re living in Bloomington, chances are that you love a good pizza. And that’s the first thing you have to try at Cafe Pizzaria. They’ve been in the business for over 60 years, so you can bet that they have pretty much perfected their food.

The BBQ Chicken Pizza is so flavorful and tangy, so I definitely recommend starting with that if you’re a Cafe Pizzeria newbie. But that’s just one of the amazing pizza flavors Cafe Pizzeria offers.

Their Vegetable Supreme pizza is packed with fresh onions, banana peppers, black olives, mushrooms and green peppers and is the perfect pie for you veggie lovers. Want something a little meatier? Their Meat Lover’s pizza is piled high with bacon, ham, sausage and pepperoni and is sure to satisfy your meat munchies.

While you wait for your pizza, I recommend ordering the garlic cheese bread. I mean c’mon. Garlic. Cheese. Bread. This stuff is absolutely smothered in cheese. Try them and you’ll wonder why you two were even arguing about where to go in the first place. Pizza and cheesy bread=the real power couple.

But if you’re not really in to the pizza thing, then try their other specialty: massive stromboli sandwiches. They’re crunchy and flaky on the outside and soft on the inside and filled with so many goodies. Their most popular and most basic stromboli features Cafe Pizzeria’s unique pizza sauce over a layer of delicious seasoned sausage, with mozzarella cheese and onion, baked on a 10 inch loaf of Italian bread and served with their homestyle pickles. It’s like a pizza sandwich. #flawless.

I have to say, though, what really keeps me coming back to this place is the atmosphere. It’s so cozy and inviting, especially during these colder months. And like I said, it’s a great date night spot. The lights are low and their comfy booths are perfect for sharing a meal with that special someone. Plus, let me say from experience, the waiters give the perfect amount of attention. They’re there when you need them and hidden when you don’t. If  you’re single and reading this though, let pizza fill the void. It’s nice and quiet, so grab your books and get to it at Cafe Pizzaria.
