Yogi’s Grill & Bar is Bloomington’s Not-So-Average Sports Bar

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at IU chapter.

Yogi’s Grill & Bar is one of Bloomington’s sports bars beloved by locals and college students alike. But while wings, beer, and flat screens are abundant, Yogi’s sets itself apart from the rest with some pretty awesome additions like Beer School and weekend brunch. Two things I’m pretty sure anyone could get on board with.

At Yogi’s, there’s something for everyone, so keep on reading if you thought that this Bloomington staple was just your average sports bar.

1. For the Beer Buff

Want to impress people with your beer knowledge? Tired of Natty Light? Not down to spend $10 on a craft beer? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, keep on reading.

Yogi’s Grill & Bar is the ideal spot in Bloomington for all things beer. Grab a group of your brew lovin’ friends for Beer School Tuesdays where you’ll get to sample and learn more about a type of beer or brewery. Now if only if Beer School could count as a 3 credit class…a girl can dream.

If you equally love good beer and a good deal, keep a look out on the Yogi’s Instagram account for updates on beer specials and happy hours. You can expect regular deals like “$1 off local pints” or the occasional Local Pint Night where pints of Quaff On, Bloomington Brewing Co., and Upland Beers are just $2!!

2. For the Brunch Obsessed

Avoid the hangry, hour-long weekend waits at Village Deli and Runcible Spoon and head to Yogi’s for instant brunch satisfaction with their all-you-can-eat buffet. For $10, brunch fare includes french toast, an omelette station, sausage gravy & biscuits, freshly baked muffins, bacon, and more. For that price, you might as well add a mimosa pitcher or a $4 Bloody Mary (or 2).

Brunch at Yogi’s Grill & Bar runs from 10am-1pm every Saturday and Sunday, so hungover or not, there’s no excuse not to go. The affordable price makes it the perfect spot to feast with friends, fuel up before heading to a game, or get your day drink on… it’s 5 o’clock somewhere right?

3. For the Sports Enthusiast

When it comes down to it, Yogi’s Grill & Bar is everything you’d want and more in a sports bar. Yogi’s does game day fare right with house-made pretzels and beer cheese, pork carnitas nachos, classic wings, and of course, plentiful drink specials. Check out their menu for an array of both classic and unique bar foods.

Yogi’s Grill & Bar is the quintessential environment to watch your favorite team or indulge pre- or post-game. Personally, I love going to Yogi’s with a group of friends to watch an IUBB game and share an unnecessary amount of appetizers.

Now, next time you and your friends need a fun activity to do, a place to watch a game, an affordable breakfast, or are just plain hungry, you know exactly where to go.
