I Went To Bloomington’s Most Iconic Restaurant To Try FARM Bloomington’s Lunch Menu

Whether you’re here for a day or two, an IU student, or Bloomington local you’ve probably heard about FARM, and for good reason! But if you have never tried FARM Bloomington’s lunch menu then look no further. Having recently hired a new chef, Chantal Adcock, I went to try some of her new dishes as well as some of head chef Daniel Orr’s classics. FARM’s lunch menu is absolutely incredible, so if you’re bored of your classic comfort foods look no further than FARM to check out some of their best lunch menu dishes below.

Starters

It is absolutely impossible to go to FARM without trying their FARM famous garlic fries which really are famous for a reason. They’re packed with flavor and the turmeric aioli is truly to die for. The Muhammara dip, the almost unanimous favorite, is a wonderful Mideastern red pepper and walnut dip, and definitely packed a punch in terms of spice! It was creamy, tangy and was served with herbed oil baked pita chips, wonderfully pairing with the dip. This is another perfect starter for any vegan (or non-vegan) out there!

FARM’s Tacos

FARM Bloomington’s lunch menu provides several tacos for all guests no matter your dietary preferences. First up are the Fisherman’s tacos. They’re made with buttermilk crispy catfish, turmeric aioli, and queso blanco which added some creaminess. Served with guacamole on the side, these tacos were definitely one of our favorites from the tasting.

If you’re vegan or vegetarian and are missing out on the taco experience, FARM created the Forager tacos and the Chilled Gardener’s tacos. The Forager tacos are great if you’re a mushroom lover; they’re filled with seared mushrooms and garlic with wilted spinach and queso blanco for a savory, umami-packed bite. The Gardener’s Tacos, being one of the more inventive vegan options on the menu, feature spiced walnut meat in a bed of napa cabbage cups. The chili and cumin provide a satisfying kick, and just as hearty and flavorful as a meat taco. Speaking as a vegetarian, I would highly recommend both of these!

Orchard Kale Salad

If you’re in the mood for something a little more refreshing, you should try the Orchard Kale salad! The massaged kale is tender and dressed with mustard vinaigrette, roasted butternut squash, granny smith apples, and dried cranberries, providing a delightful burst of sweet and tart flavors. It also comes with white cheddar curds and spiced pepitas which really add to the texture and richness, and with our protein choice of the smoked salmon the blend of flavors was impeccable!

Autumn Vineyard Pizza

The Autumn Vineyard Pizza is a nice twist on traditional pizza, definitely suited for the autumn season! The Autumn Vineyard pizza  combines red grapes, garlic sauce, capriole goat cheese, and Hoosier Hot Honey hitting the perfect balance between sweet and savory. It’s topped with a fresh arugula salad, making the dish both indulgent and refreshing.

Five Cheese Grilled Cheese

As far as Grilled Cheeses go, the five cheese grilled cheese definitely went to the top of my list! With a medley of cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, provolone, and goat cheese this sandwich definitely gets a good cheese pull! The option for gluten free bread also ensures everyone can indulge in this beautiful cheesy creation!

World’s Greatest BLT

I’ve also had my fair share of BLTs, but the World’s Greatest BLT definitely lives up to the name! It only feels right to finish off my review with this absolute beast of a sandwich. The peppered bacon was crispy and smokey which combined nicely with the fresh tomatoes, arugula, avocado, and zesty wasabi mayo. The potato on the side was also a nice addition and really rounded out the plate!

Combining global flavors and comforting classics is their specialty from the vibrant Muhammara dip to the inventive Autumn Vineyard pizza. FARM’s range from coffee to vegan friendly bites, to mouthwatering sandwiches makes it the perfect spot for college students or busy professionals. No matter who you are, FARM is sure to leave you impressed.
