With the semester coming to an end and finals closing in, there are a few lights in the dark. One of these end-of-the-year luxuries is Classroom To Table, the program through which you can take your wonderful professors and teaching fellows out to dinner on Harvard’s dime. The Grafton group, which includes Cambridge favorites Grafton Street, Park Restaurant, Russell House Tavern, Hourly Oyster House, and Temple Bar, provides the options for this transformative meal. Whether you’re taking a professor out for a dignified meal, or just reveling in the remainder of the semester, we had to highlight two of Grafton Group’s shining stars in honor of their April birthdays.
Russell House Tavern
The Harvard Square staple is turning 8 years old this month. With celebrations on the weekends of April 14 and April 21, Bar manager Joe Slavinski will be serving guests a limited edition Cereal Cocktail (pictured). Made with our favorite childhood cereal, the delightful “Cocoa Puffs Chartreuse Smash” will be available during brunch service. If you can’t make it for brunch those weekends, the other flavors, Peanut Butter Banshee, Fruit Loop Cosmo and Applejack Sidecar, will be around other weekends. Cure your reading period hangover with their Nutella-Stuffed French Toast and other delicacies.
Temple Bar
Familiar mostly to Quadlings and those who walk to Bagelsaurus regularly, Temple Bar is turning 20 years old this month. For a birthday deal, Chef Richmond Edes will be offering a burger, beer and dessert deal for $20 on April 24th; all entrees will be $20 as well. Enjoy the coming spring weather and take a stroll to enjoy their classic Heritage Pork or Faroe Island Salmon, among other delicious dishes.
April birthdays are just one reason to eat good food this month, so give Russell House and Temple Bar a try! Let us know what you think.
