The 15 Best Starbucks Secret Menu Frappuccinos and How to Order Them

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Hamilton chapter.

Thanks to my dad’s coffee addiction, my family usually makes at least three stops at Starbucks every day. Unfortunately, I don’t have much of a taste for coffee, so I generally get a cream Frappuccino or a Frappucino with enough sugar to mask the taste of coffee. There aren’t that many Frappuccinos on the menu, so that gets boring fast. Over the years, I’ve tried many of the Starbucks secret menu Frappuccinos and unearthed some of the all-time best flavors. Lucy for you, I’m here to let you all in on my best-kept secrets.

#SpoonTip: These Frappuccinos will likely be more expensive since they all require extra syrups.

15. Shamrock Frappuccino

Although this Starbucks secret menu Frappuccino is wonderfully minty, if you’re going to be celebrating St. Patrick’s day you may as well splurge on a McDonald’s Shamrock shake. To order the Shamrock Frappuccino, ask for a tall Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with 1.5 pumps of peppermint syrup, 1/2 pump classic syrup, and 2 scoops of matcha powder for that signature green colour.

14. Berry Swirl Frappuccino

There’s nothing more refreshing in the summer than some fresh berries. To make this Berry Swirl Frappuccino, ask for a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino made with coconut milk with added blueberries and blackberries. If you’re looking for some more excitement, add java chips as well.

13. Candy Cane Frappuccino

Although the peppermint flavour may not be clear from the look of the drink, the flavour comes through with a perfect strength. To make the Candy Cane Frappuccino, order a tall Vanilla Bean Frappuccino and ask for a pump of peppermint syrup.

12. Raspberry Chocolate Dream Frappuccino

If you can’t decide between fruity and sweet, this Raspberry Chocolate Dream Frappuccino is the perfect combination of the two. To order it, ask for a tall Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with 2 pumps of raspberry syrup, 2 pumps of white mocha sauce, 1 pump of cinnamon dolce syrup, and java chips. Top with another half pump of raspberry. If you’re up for it, you can add some mocha drizzle to the top as well.

11. Cotton Candy Frappuccino

Although I was skeptical that the simple addition of raspberry could replicate the taste of cotton candy so perfectly, the Cotton Candy Frappuccino surprised me. This is actually one of the most well known Starbucks Secret Menu Frappuccinos. To make it, simply order a tall Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with 1 pump of raspberry syrup.

10. Hazelnut Malt Frappuccino

If you prefer vanilla to chocolate like me, you may want to consider replacing your normal morning Nutella and toast with a Hazelnut Malt Frappuccino. To order this Frappuccino, order a tall Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with an extra scoop of vanilla bean powder, as well as 2 pumps of hazelnut syrup, and 2 shakes of nutmeg powder.

9. Blackberry Cobbler Frappuccino

The tart blackberries in this Blackberry Cobbler Frappuccino are a nice contrast to the sweetness of the drink. To make it, order a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with 1 pump of white mocha syrup and a scoop of freeze-dried blackberries.

8. Pumpkin Cinnamon Chip Frappuccino

Nothing says fall more than pumpkin and cinnamon. While everyone else is getting their pumpkin spice lattes, you can sip on the delight that is a Pumpkin Cinnamon Chip Frappuccino. To order it, ask for a tall Pumpkin Spice Creme Frappuccino with 1 pump of cinnamon dolce syrup and java chips.

7. Piña Colada Frappuccino

Already missing sipping your piña colada on the beach during spring break? Bring that feeling back by ordering a Piña Colada Frappuccino. To make it, ask for a Creme Frappuccino with coconut milk to the first line and pineapple infusion tea to the second line. Then add extra ice and an extra pump of creme base.

6. Oreo Frappuccino

I’ve never been the type to turn down anything Oreo-flavoured and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. To order the Oreo Frappuccino, ask for a Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino with white mocha. If you’d like a little more chocolate flavour, ask for chocolate whipped cream instead of regular.

5. Cap’n Crunch Frappuccino

My parents always tried to stave off my sugary cereal cravings with healthier cereals such as Raisin Bran. Somehow, this makes me relish the tastes of those rare childhood treats even more. To make a Cap’n Crunch Frappuccino, order a tall Strawberries and Creme Frappuccino with 1/2 of a pump of caramel syrup, 1 pump of toffee syrup, 1/2 a pump of hazelnut syrup, and java chips. You’ll feel just like a kid again.

4. Red Velvet Frappuccino

Red velvet is my favourite cake flavour, and the Frappuccino version is much more refreshing. To make a Red Velvet Frappuccino, order a tall half white/half regular mocha Frappuccino and add one pump of Raspberry syrup. Adding java chips never hurts, either.

3. Cookie Dough Frappuccino

This delicious Cookie Dough Frappuccino has all of the taste of cookie dough, without any of the safety hazards of raw cookie dough. To order it, ask for a tall Cinnamon Dolce Creme Frappuccino with 1 pump of mocha syrup and java chips. Put chocolate whip and cookie crumble on top to make it extra special.

2. Mango Frappuccino

Mangoes are (in my humble opinion) by far the most amazing fruit. When I heard there was a secret menu Mango Frappuccino, I went straight to Starbucks to try it out. To order it, ask for a tall Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with 1 less scoop of vanilla powder and 3 pumps of mango syrup. Your life won’t be the same.

1. Butterbeer Frappuccino

Whether you’re a die-hard Harry Potter fan or a simple lover of caramel, this recipe is tried, true, and sure to impress. Although it may taste magical, ordering it at Starbucks just requires a little know-how. To order a Butterbeer Frappuccino, ask for the cup to be lined with caramel drizzle. Then order a Creme Frappuccino base with 3 pumps of caramel syrup, 3 pumps of toffee nut syrup, and more caramel drizzled on top.

With how often many of us frequent Starbucks, their regular menu items just don’t cut it anymore. While the Starbucks secret menu Frappuccinos are amazing, there are also tons of other secret menu items to try. With this simple guide, you can order anything your heart desires.
