Nutella is something I hold near and dear to my heart, much like most of America (sorry to those with allergies). You can put it on toast, strawberries, ice cream, crackers, and basically anything your heart desires… okay, maybe not everything but there is just something about the hazelnut spread that is just so magical. So, I decided to put its magic to the test and eat one Nutella recipe a day for a week. Here’s what happened:
Day 1: Nutella Pancakes
For this recipe, I used the Bisquick pancake mix recipe and then added a little over a half cup of Nutella to it. This was a great way to jazz up the simple pancake recipe and definitely a great way to start my morning. I went to work later craving them and wanting more. You should definitely give this a shot to make your mornings a little less dreadful.
Day 2: Nutella Smoothie
I used this recipe to treat myself and because you can never go wrong with bananas and Nutella. I had it after I had gone for a run in the afternoon and for added benefits, I added a tablespoon of Chia seeds. It was an awesome post-workout treat (treat yourself!) but you could definitely make it for breakfast or a daytime snack. It’s also a good idea for those babysitters out there to calm the kids!
Day 3: Nutella French Toast
On the third day, I used this French Toast recipe I found, but you can probably use your go-to French toast recipe and just add Nutella. It’s a great way to make French toast a little more exciting and the Nutella definitely gives the dish a little kick. I actually had it as an afternoon snack but it would make the perfect breakfast. I definitely recommend adding some strawberries to add some freshness to the dish and just a little bit of nutrition.
Day 4: Nutella Creme Brûlée
Now this recipe is definitely a little more ambitious since creme brûlée is not exactly a simple dessert to make but I was feeling adventurous, and have always loved making creme brûlée. The Nutella paired really well with the creaminess of the creme brûlée. This would be awesome for a Netflix night with friends.
Day 5: Brownie Bites
I chose another great dessert recipe for this day and the best part about it was that it only involves FOUR ingredients. I made them so I could cure my midnight hunger pangs and they were perfect – not too heavy and not too light that I would get hungry two minutes after devouring this sweet treat.
Day 6: Nutella Pizza
No, you didn’t misread that. This pizza is very real and actually pretty tasty. You can also get creative with your toppings but I stuck to the ones in this recipe. This was the perfect summer afternoon snack, but Nutella obviously goes with every time and place so give it a shot whenever you want.
Day 7: Nutella Mug Cake
For the final recipe, I decided to do a play on a pretty common concept. This recipe is not the famous microwave mug cake, but with Nutella, it definitely took it to a new level. Putting it in the microwave never got me the right consistency but the oven made for such a moist and smooth cake. This was definitely one of my new favorites.
This week of eating Nutella recipes did nothing but confirm the fact that Nutella is extremely versatile and delicious in almost any form and there’s nothing you can do about it.
