You know the feeling when you walk into a grocery store and are immediately overwhelmed with 20 different brands of peanut butter? These days, it seems that everyone is promising to deliver healthier alternatives to the processed options that litter the shelves. But how do you know what’s worth the hype? Look no further, I’m here to highlight a brand that I think deserves a place in your pantry. Peanut butter lovers, this one’s for you.

One Trick Pony is a family-run business that combines clean ingredients with unique flavor. The recipe is simple: Córdoba peanuts and Patagonian sea salt. The naturally sweet taste of their Argentinian peanuts allows harmful additives, such as palm oil and sugar, to be left in the dust. The result is a sweet, roasted taste that is more flavorful than anything else you’ll find at the store.

When I’m shopping for peanut butter, the only thing more important than taste is texture. I don’t want to open a jar to find a thick pool of oil on top, and I also don’t want to be caught in a battle trying to stir the product into submission. Maybe it’s the special peanuts or maybe it’s magic. All I know is that I have never had to stir my jar of One Trick Pony, and for that, I will be a customer for life.

In another commitment to quality, One Trick Pony comes in sustainable packaging that will have your pantry looking expensive. If you frequent the popular bagel joint Call Your Mother, then you may have seen these beautiful glass jars sitting next to the register. This is no accident. The founders behind One Trick Pony are also responsible for selling some of the most popular bagels in Georgetown and the greater D.C. area.

They currently offer three options: Silky Smooth, Kinda Crunchy, and Unsalted. I was lucky enough to sample their Kinda Crunchy peanut butter in a few of my recipes, and they did not disappoint. The salty, sweet taste worked perfectly in my Peanut Butter Banana Energy Bites (recipe below). Whether it be atop your morning oatmeal or a scoop of ice cream, there are so many ways to enjoy the rich flavors of One Trick Pony. If you’re itching to give One Trick Pony a try, you can find them at over 450+ grocery stores across the country, online, or at a Call Your Mother location near you.
