Take Your S’mores to the Next Level with Girl Scout Cookies

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at FSU chapter.

It’s that time of year again: the days are getting longer, the weather isn’t quite as freezing, and little girls in teal sashes are manning every street corner. That’s right; it’s officially Girl Scout cookie season. You already know you’ll be stocking up on as many boxes of Thin Mints and Samoas as your tiny college budget can afford. Instead of mindlessly eating your entire stash while binging on Netflix, call up some friends, get a fire going, and take advantage of the nice weather. We’ve come up with some s’mores recipes that will take your bonfire to the next level – Girl Scout style.

1. Extra Rich Thin Mints

Chocolate and mint is always a favorite, but when you get marshmallows involved it really becomes a party. Play up this indulgent combination by complementing it with dark chocolate and a touch of raspberry jam.

#SpoonTip: Ghirardelli chocolates are thinner than Hershey’s so they melt into the s’more better

2. Elvis-Inspired Do-si-dos

Do-si-dos are one of the more plain cookie options, but that just means they have even extra potential for toppings. Make a s’mores fit for a king by topping it with banana, milk chocolate, and an extra scoop of peanut butter.

3. PB&J Tagalongs

Tagalongs are a dream for anyone who loves peanut butter and chocolate. If you’re feeling adventurous, give your usual combination an extra twist by adding jelly. Trust me, you’ve never had PB&J as good as this.

4. Salty Sweet Samoas

This crowd pleaser would kick any party up a notch, especially when there’s bacon involved. It’s important not to go overboard on the toppings here – the Samoas are sweet enough on their own. Adding a slice of crispy bacon creates the perfect balance between sugary and salty.

#SpoonTip: Want more options? Set up a toppings bar with all of your favorite goodies.

Haley writes for Spoon University FSU. When she isn't biking around town, she can be found getting unnecessarily emotional over photos of baby animals. She's passionate about everything chocolate, and advocates for banning the practice of mixing ketchup with mayo. P.s. she's a vegetarian, but that doesn't mean she doesn't know how to have fun.
